Macomber Series Points Requirement: Racers (both men and women) with points below 150.00 in either SL or GS may race in Macomber Cup races.

Qualifying from Tecnica Cup to Macomber Cup:
From the first 2 Tec Cups (Loon & Attitash)

Men: J IIs - 5; J I or SR - 1

Women: J IIs - 5; J I or SR - 1

From each of the remaining 5 Tec races 1 man and 1 woman regardless of age.

Race/Schedule Changes

The Tony Buttinger Slalom on 2/12/2012 will be CLOSED to J-3's as J-3 athletes will be at state series and regional series races that day. Both the Gus Pitou 1/8/2012 and the Tony Buttinger 2/12/2012 will be open to J-6 athletes (7&8 year olds/2003&2004).

New this season Ragged Mountain Resort is utilizing RFID ticketing technology. Lift ‘tickets’ have an embedded unique frequency radio transponder which is read at the access gate at the lifts. Each Card requires a $5 cash refundable deposit at race registration. Return of the deposit upon return of your RFID ticket and race bib. Lost, stolen or damaged cards will be charged at $10.

USSA Eastern Updates - Important news from USSA Eastern Region. USSA EAST has updated its website, www.ussaeast.org There is already a wealth of information on this website. USSA East is committed to continue to keep the site up to date and current. Dirk Gouwens, the new Eastern Competition Manager, is the person responsible for the website renewal. Dirk is available for input and or to answer questions. It is highly recommended that you check it out and sign up for the automatic updates!

Hello all Eastern Region Members,

We hope you are enjoying your summer and thinking about and planning for a great ski season to come. We have been busy in the eastern office working on programs, schedules, and events that will make this coming season the best we have ever seen. We will continue to keep you up to date as the summer progresses, but right now we want you to mark your calendar for an exciting event we have created that will benefit everyone involved with Eastern Ski Racing. We will be hosting our first ever Eastern Alpine Summit at Killington, VT on Sunday October 23, 2011. The event will include educational tracks for Parents, Coaches, Officials and Club Leadership along with a full athletic component for athletes of all ages. This will be an exciting event that will kick off the Alpine Racing season that you won't want to miss.

Follow this link to a flyer that gives a brief description of the event. Please feel free to forward it to anyone you know and be sure to mark your calendar for Oct. 23. More information will be ready around mid-August and we'll be sure to send it to you as soon as it is available.

All NHARA athletes born in 1998 or earlier must have a USSA Competition License to compete in any qualifying series.

JOB POSTINGS

Attitash Race Team is seeking a qualified J4 level coach and J5 level coach for the upcoming 2011/12 season.

Job requirements include:

Strong skiing/racing skills
Outgoing/positive personality
USSA and/or PSIA certifications preferred
Communicating with coaches, Program Coordinator, parents and athletes
Must be available to work weekends and school holidays
Travel is involved but mileage is reimbursed!
USSA and NHARA fees are also reimbursed
