Committee Reports:

                A.C.C.:                                   Nothing to report.

Seed Review:                        There has been a problem with team selection Emily suggests using the November list for selection to both the Senior and Development Teams.

Motion: In the future (2006-2007 on), the Senior and Development will be selected from current
NHARA members using the November USSA list.                                        E.Crane/G.Reiss/Unanimous

Coaches Council:                Meetings: 9/20 at New Hampton School; 10/11 Referee Update at Proctor; 11/1 Coaches Education TBA. An On Snow clinic may possibly take place in December in conjunction with a PSIA event scheduled for Killington. Georg will be looking into this.

Alpine Officials:                  A referees’ update clinic is scheduled for 10/11 at Proctor in conjunction with the Coaches Council meeting.  Many referees were updated at last year’s clinic. Updating will also be offered at the 11/13 regional clinic for TDs/referees. A FIS Race Administrator’s clinic is scheduled for 11/12, with Thelma Hoessler speaking.

Children’s Racing:             Fall meeting is 10/12 at St. Paul’s School. Ken Jones has dropped its JIII sponsorship. Gerd is researching possible new sponsors for these events. There have been scheduling problems this year for Children’s events, mostly those relating to speed. The J3 State Finals have been re-scheduled for Sunapee 2/25-26. This leaves the Tecnica Cup GS Championships without a host on 2/26. Attitash has no interest in hosting the J3 speed events this year.  A possible solution may be Wildcat.

Jack has resigned as Vice-Chairman of the Children’s Committee. There are a number of other vacancies also. These positions will be filled at the CRC meeting on 10/12.

Gerd will look into new FIS rules affecting maximum verticals for J3s.

Handbook:                             Printing will be late this year due to lack of information and ongoing changes. The printer has been contacted; 1500 copies are planned.

                Banquet:                               No report

Masters:                                Tony DiGangi is the new Masters representative. Nothing to report.

                Adaptive:                               No report.

                Web Site:                              No report.

Racer Support:                    Paul Cremeno has replaced Dan as chairman of this committee.

Fencing:                                Paul Cremeno is the chairman of this committee.

                Review/Appeal:                    Nothing to report.

Industry Rep:                       Ivar gave up a recap of current changes in the ski industry. There have been a number of mergers and a number of distributors are moving their main base of operations out west.

Ski NH Liaison:                  Update by Kris Blomback.

A number of areas are knee deep in capital expansion, mostly in infrastructure. Contrary to gossip, Wildcat has not been sold. Whaleback has been purchased; plans are for an area specializing in Freeride and Freestyle (80/20 as to whether they will be able to open this season)

There has been a 10% - 15% increase in season ticket sales so far. Fuel costs more than likely will have a huge impact on financial success this season. Insurance costs have leveled off. There have been a few equipment upgrades, namely at Granite Gorge (Pinnacle).

Old Business

·         Hosts for Open races –looking for hosts for Tec Cup GS Finals 2/26, a Lafoley SS race 3/04 and a Lafoley SS race 3/11. The Coaches Council will address this at their next meeting.

·         On Line Registration – Jeff is researching this.

New Business

·         NHARA Dinner

Discussion was held regarding the viability of the event. It is a lot of work for an event that is break even at best. As an awards banquet, it does not serve the purpose well because many recipients do not show up. It was suggested that we not hold the dinner this year, request that the deposit monies expended be applied to room rental for the clinics with the remainder to be returned to NHARA, and present the awards at the season ending Championships or the last race of the series.

Motion: To discontinue the NHARA dinner and request the $500 deposit be applied to clinic room rental with the remainder to be returned to NHARA                                                                      R.Underhill/P.Holland/Unanimous

·         Golf Tournament

This event is scheduled for October 3rd at the Owl’s Nest. It will be a NHARA fund raising event to be held annually. There is still room for more teams. Laurie Stevens is the contact person for forms. She can be reached at the Pro Shop. It was decided not to do a mass mailing of the brochures for this event due to cost of postage and the fact that the draw is limited to relatively few members, namely those who golf. A better avenue should be leaving the brochures for pick up at various local shops.

·         NHARA Brochure

We need a new one!
