Franconia Ski Club is Seeking Alpine Coaches and Venue Crew for 24/25 Season

The Franconia Ski Club (FSC) is currently seeking alpine racing coaches and venue staff to meet the needs of their growing program.  

FSC provides young athletes the opportunity to enjoy and attain excellence in skiing and ski racing.   They are a U.S. Ski and Snowboard Gold Certified club based out of the Mittersill Race Venue at Cannon Mountain, New Hampshire.  

Alpine Coaches

Full-time seasonal positions working with FSC’s Winter Term program and part-time weekend-only positions are available.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills.  Prior coaching and/or racing experience is preferred.   All candidates must meet U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s requirements for youth coaches.  Candidates should hold a current U.S. Ski & Snowboard coaching certification (Level 100 or higher) or be willing to obtain such certification during the 24/25 season.

Venue Crew

Full and part-time, winter seasonal (November-April) positions available with the Race Venue Crew.  Job responsibilities include:

• Set-up, ongoing maintenance, relocation and removal of all required safety netting and protection in the Mittersill Race Venue or on other trails designated for training or racing.

• During race and official training events, set-up of both the start and finish arenas including timing wires and start and finish apparatus and event fencing.

• During race and official training events fill in as event worker as needed.

• Additional duties as required based on weekly training and race schedule.

To be qualified, applicant must be an expert skier/snowboarder and be able to lift 50 pounds.  Previous ski racing experience preferred.  

Pay dependent on experience and level of certification.  Negotiable housing options available upon request.
